Macavity the Mystery Cat ([personal profile] felinefiend) wrote2013-01-04 01:59 am

Baby it's cold outside

The snow had been falling all day long, and now that the sun had set, the winter world beyond the warmth of the house was harsh with the added chill, but lit by the moonlight glancing off snow covered land. Macavity leaned his head forward, breathing in Victoria's scent as his head rested against the back of hers. The Jellicle jewel was leaning into him where she sat between his legs, both of them enjoying the warmth of the flickering fireplace in front of them, and the added warmth of two bodies pressed close.

His arms wrapped loosely around her stomach as he dipped his head further down, brushing her hair to the side and placing a kiss just beneath her jaw, his head now resting against one of her shoulders. Christmas and New Years had come and gone, and Macavity was beginning to wonder if his pretty jewel had tamed him.

He was content to sit here with her, in the quiet warmth. Even his mind chose not to wander far from her. He should be worried. For his livelihood. For his reputation. Possibly for far more.

Instead, the Mystery Cat gave a lazy smile, pulling her just that little bit closer and leaving a kiss on her cheek.

Victoria's thoughts never strayed far from the moment she was in, and this one most certainly was no different, especially not since she was spending it with Macavity.

It would seem that the tall ginger tom found more and more reason to spend his days or nights in the company of the petite dancer, and that it bothered just about everyone but her.

Even the most callous of cats found that something about Macavity paying so much attention to the little jellicle jewel bothered them. Not many would have been able or willing to put words to it, but there was a general consensus amongst even the criminal elements of cat society that this was just... wrong.

There had to be a certain balance to things, and the mystery cat was upsetting it. He was upsetting it bad.

Victoria didn't think of such things, of course, as Macavity's kisses made her purr contently and lean back against him with complete trust. What she thought about was whether or not he might perhaps possibly maybe love her, the way she thought that she might perhaps possibly maybe love him. It was a big word. An important one.

She pushed one of the sleeves of his shirt up a little so that she could run her fingertips over the skin on his arm.

"I'm so glad you could spend the holidays with me."
